About Vivi
Vivi is a London-based visual artist whose practice spans oil, acrylic, and pastel. Born in Brazil and raised in Pernambuco - she was immersed early in a rich visual landscape of painting, woodcut printmaking, and street art. These influences continue to shape her bold use of colour, expressive mark-making, and sensitivity to socio-cultural themes.
Her work explores inner conflict through the lens of philosophical and cultural inquiry, engaging with ideas of freedom, anxiety, self-deception, and interpersonal relationships. Rooted in a two-stage process of writing followed by painting, her practice translates introspection into vivid, figurative compositions.
Characterised by textured surfaces, dynamic brushwork, and striking palettes, Vivi’s paintings bring female figures to life as vessels of emotional and psychological tension, capturing both vulnerability and strength.
